Snorting Watermelons with Four-Legs and Wiggly Tails
Little black, cream, and red watermelons with wiry pink tails, Spock ears and button snouts! That’s what the four new Red River Hog piglets resemble. Born at the Zoo on Monday, April 23, they along with Mom, Binti, and Dad, Runty, made their public debut at the Kansas City Zoo in
Weighing at birth around 2 pounds, they will nurse from mom for at least three months. Pig milk has nearly double the fat of cow or human milk so they will grow quickly. Mom and dad weigh around a healthy 150 pounds each.
