Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be the guests of honor on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 at the Kansas City Zoo’s Scout Weekend. We are offering complimentary admission for all scouts in uniform and $6 admission for their immediate families. The first 500 scouts to arrive each day will also receive a special Zoo badge.
Education staff will also be on hand to talk with scout leaders about future programs the Zoo offers such as workshops and overnights, which will help scouts achieve badges and other requirements.
Beyond the interactive learning stations, there is still plenty at the Zoo for the scouts to explore. Check out the brand new yellow-billed storks on exhibit for the first time this weekend. Two males and three females will inhabit the exhibit near the crocodiles in Africa.
Stop by Billy Goats Gruff Yard and get nose to nose with the newest kids on the block. Explore Helzberg Penguin Plaza and swing into Orangutan Canopy. Check out the adorable ape babies in our orangutan, gorilla and chimpanzee exhibits. No matter where the journey takes them, it’s sure to be a great day at the Zoo for scouts and their families!
