The Kansas City Zoo is home to several species of macaws. These large, colorful parrots native to South and Central America are a widely varied species. Their beautiful colors have resulted in intensive pressure on wild populations for the pet trade and several species are now listed as critically endangered. You can find our macaws in the Discovery Barn and in the WOW Wings of Wonder bird show.
