Kansas City Zoo is proud to honor those who risk their lives to keep our community safe. On Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16, first responders will receive free admission to the Zoo.
Guests will also be able to explore first responder vehicles including a fire truck from the Kansas City Fire Department and a police show car and rollover vehicle from the Kansas City Police Department. The fire truck and police show car will be available 10 am to 3 pm both Saturday and Sunday. The rollover vehicle will be at the Zoo from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
First responders include employees of an emergency service who are likely to be among the first people to assist at the scene of an emergency such as an accident or natural disaster. This would include personnel such as firefighters, EMTs, and police officers. In order to receive free admission, first responders must present a valid ID that identifies them.
The Zoo also offers discounts on daily admission to active duty and retired military personnel and will offer free admission to military personnel on November 10 & 11.
