Taking your group on Safari is easy at the Kansas City Zoo. Trek through your area of choice and feel all the excitement of world travel, without the vaccinations.
African Golf Cart Safari
Have you always wanted to go on safari in Africa? Now you can, and all from the comfort of your very own Golf Cart Tour. The tour highlights the animals in our Africian Exhibit. The carts are driven by Kansas City Zoo Docents who are knowledgeable about the Zoo’s exhibits and animal collection.
Some Zoo’s exhibits are accessible by cart. Therefore, short walking tours will be part of the adventure, if desired.
Available: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, April through October, by reservation only.
- $50 per person.
- Minimum of two people per tour and a maximum of five.
- Children ages 2 and under will be admitted at no charge, but must sit on an accompanying adult’s lap.
- A complimentary bottle of water will be provided for paying participants.
Wild Safari Walking Tours
Planning a trip to the Zoo with your class? How about just your friends and family? Why not make your trip easier and memorable with a tour? Not only will you get to see the animals but your group will get their very own Zoo tour guide. This professional educator will help your group spot some of those hard to find animals, share many interest facts specific to the animals at the Kansas City Zoo and answer the questions you've always wanted to ask. Just don't forget to bring your walking shoes and some water, a safari is much more fun if everyone is prepared. If your class is studying something specific, let us know and we can tailor the tour to your curriculum!
Available: 9:30a.m.-3:30p.m., by reservation only. Tours can accommodate 10 to 500 participants.
Australasian Adventure (1 hour) - $5.00 per person, plus regular Zoo admission.
Polar Bear & Tropics (1 hour) - $5.00 per person, plus regular Zoo admission.
African Safari (2 hours) - $10.00 per person, plus regular Zoo admission.
Note: There is a $60 minimum fee for any tour. One free teacher/chaperone for every 10 students.
