The Kansas City Zoo is a wonderful place for teens to experience animals and connect with nature and their community in a meaningful way. We offer 2 (age appropriate) year-long programs that are designed to be fun and educational while empowering teens to take a greater role in their community as well as conservation efforts. We are looking for select individuals who are:
·Self motivated, friendly and outgoing
·Likes being outdoors in ALL kinds of weather
·Interested in and cares about people, animals and nature
·May be considering a course of study in animals/biology, education or not for-profit business
VolunTeen Requirements
Kansas City Zoo VolunTeens must:
·Be in the 8th-11th grades at the time of application
·Complete, in its entirety, the application packet
If Selected
·Be able to pass a background check
·Be able to pay a $30 fee
·Be able to attend a MANDATORY orientation/training session (accompanied by at least 1 parent/guardian)
·Be able to commit to some weekends and 1 week day each week in the summer
