A "Call" to Action

Donating your old cell phones will help the environment, and will also benefit the Kansas City Zoo. Cell phone recycling is now available at the Kansas City Zoo through Integrity Communications.  Donated cell phones will either be refurbished or disposed using only the most ecologically sound methods.

Recycle your old cell phone and help save an orangutan. Borneo, the home of many orangutans, is quickly disappearing. By donating your old cell phones to the Kansas City Zoo, we will donate to help save orangutans and know that your old cell phone will be recycled in an environmentally friendly way keeping old cell phones out of landfills.

- One cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water.

- Cell phones contain toxic substances that can pollute the air and leach into soil and drinking water when buried in landfills.

- Cadmium can damage the kidneys

- Lead accumulates in landfills and can cause damage to nervous systems.

- Mercury causes brain damage.

You can donate your cell phone at the Zoo by bringing it to Guest Relations or by completing this form.

Long neck, yes...
